PSYCHOTHERAPIE & PSYCHOANALYSE

Welcome to my practice for psychotherapy and psychoanalysis

My goal is to assist you in understanding yourself better and resolving difficulties that might prevent you from enjoying  fulfilling relationships and a satisfying life.  Determining the best route for you is a complex and highly individual question, that can be best explored through a personal consultation at my practice or online.

Why psychoanalysis?

Psychoanalysis provides a confidential, supportive space where you can openly talk about your difficulties and, with the guidance of your analyst, begin to understand the root causes of your struggles. Together, you’ll explore healthier ways to cope and move forward, finding relief and a renewed sense of possibility.

It can be surprising to see how much our present choices are shaped by events from our early lives. As you start to recognize these unconcious  connections between past and present, you become less constrained by your history, opening up new ways to move forward.

Psychoanalytic treatment involves regular fifty-minute sessions with your analyst, offering a stable structure for exploring deeper insights. This generous time and attention can significantly reduce psychological suffering, improve well-being, and expand your capacity for greater fulfilment in life.

How Does Psychoanalysis Bring Change?

Each person’s experience is unique. Through the therapeutic process, you’ll come to understand yourself better, recognize patterns in your behaviour, and gradually acquire understanding  where you want to be in life. As you deepen your self-awareness, become more flexible in your thinking, and gain new perspectives, you’ll likely notice progress—reduced emotional or physical symptoms, improved relationships, increased resilience to stress, and a stronger sense of control over your life. Psychoanalysis can be life-changing, with difficult moments fostering growth. Often, simply being truly heard is a powerful, satisfying experience in itself.

First Meeting and Practical Information

In an initial consultation, we’ll discuss your concerns and background so I can understand how best to support you. The fee for an initial consultation is 70 Euro. If you have any relevant medical diagnoses, bringing them along may be helpful for a fuller understanding of your situation.

Finding the right therapist is essential to successful psychotherapy; it’s important to feel understood, comfortable, and confident that your therapist’s approach aligns with your needs. The consultation also allows me to assess whether I’m the best fit for your situation or, if needed, to refer you to a colleague who may be better suited to help.

After our first session, you can take your time to decide if you’d like to continue. If you choose to proceed, we’ll outline the therapy structure and costs together. Sessions last 50 minutes, with frequency ranging from once to five times per week, depending on your unique needs.

Typically, sessions occur on the same day and time each week to create a stable framework for exploring what matters most to you. I’ll listen closely, providing space for you to delve into important issues, with gentle guidance toward areas that may reveal hidden conflicts or insights. We may examine relationship dynamics and recurring patterns in your behavior, empowering you to explore new ways of being and strengthen your confidence and well-being.

For those outside Vienna, I offer online therapy or a mix of in-person and virtual sessions. Strict confidentiality is maintained at all times, fostering a trusting, open environment that’s essential for effective therapy.
